Baby Shower for Kolby

I still can’t believe I am going to be a mom, some days it is just overwhelming but I am so excited! My sweet sister had a baby shower for me this weekend and she put so much work into it and I know with all the things going on with her thyroid, four kids and all the other thing she has going on…she didn’t really have the energy to do this but she is an amazing sister and friend and I really appreciate it! I got so many fun things and am so grateful for the amazing friends and family that came to support me and Kolby! I feel so blessed to have so many people that love and support me and Rodger; Kolby is one lucky boy to be coming into this world to so many people that already love him!

"With great power comes great responsibility."

So I have a confession to make….I love superheroes!!! It all started when I got my wisdom teeth out my senior year I spent all my holiday vacation with my Mom and she tried so hard to keep me from being BORED! My Mom asked if I wanted to watch “Spiderman”…me the girly girls of all girls…I wasn’t thrilled but said "ok" ….it was then that I fell in LOVE with Peter Parker a.k.a Spiderman! I also married a superhero lover! We enjoy going to the opening night or opening day of all of these movies…So since 2004 Spiderman was top the superhero..no argument about it…then we watched Ironman…They tied for first until this weekend Rodg took me to see “Thor” and I LOVED IT!!! Me and 7 computer nerds (Rodg's friends) I can’t wait to go see it again…I don’t know what it is about superheroes but I love them! It may be that there is always a love story twisted into it -or all the action that takes place, conquering good over evil but I love them all of them- When Rodger and I first met I thought he was a big nerd (not my type) but slowly we developed a relationship that was like none other and after being married to him for a year I am beginning to realize that everyone has a bit of nerd in them…even me!

My new Number ONE!!!

Happy Mothers Day

I have beautiful women in my life that have been amazing examples of Mothers and many other important things to me- This Mothers day has been very emotional for me…as I have been preparing to become a mother and feel very inadequate in what the Lord is trusting me with, I look to my Mom she is the most amazing women I know! She has always been there for me when I think of my Mom I think of the definition of charity, “The pure love of Christ; unconditional love, compassion, service, sympathy, and concern for others.” My Mom has taught me all of these things and so many more just by her every day actions- I so often have people I don’t know come up to me and tell me what a wonderful mother I have and I always think to myself “I know!” My mom is very selfless person in everything she does she never thinks about her I found a quote that fits my mom perfect….“A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie.” I feel so blessed to call her mom.

Natalie is another example of a wonderful mother and person, my sister is the most forgiving, giving person I think I know her love for people and concern for others is amazing and her love for her children is indescribable! She has been through many ups and downs in life but her faith in her Father in Heaven always helps carry her through those hard times whenever I have a hard time I just think of her and all the things she has been through and I know I can do hard things because of the faith she has shown to me- I love these two women and I hope that as I enter into motherhood I am just a twinkle of what they are and have been in my life!
