My Best Friend

I went to the Dr. Yesterday….and Nothing…It was a big disappointment for some reason I thought for sure something had changed, needless to say I was extremely grouchy and went into a bit of a depression. My husband is so sweet he has been such a support through my whole pregnancy and when I ended up in the hospital with still 12 weeks to go he was strength that I needed so much! He also as my brother Jesse would say gave up his man card to paint my toe nails because I can no longer see them he did a great job and was so patient and sweet about it! And for the record I don’t think he gave up his man card I think it just made him more of a man! Well yesterday he proved once again what an amazing guy he is…..the doorbell rang…THE FLOWER LADY…I love her!! Rodg sent me flowers they are beautiful and they just made my day. I am so thankful and blessed to be married to my best friend and that he puts up with me through all my crazy moods!!!

“Decide that you want it more then you are afraid of it”

We had a really busy weekend! Saturday Rodg and I decided to go and hiking (nothing to extreme) it was so fun to get out and everything was so green and perfect weather! We hiked and then we went for a real bumpy ride…hoping to maybe get the baby here…but it obviously didn’t work I am beginning to think no matter what I do…Kolby is coming when he is good and ready- The anticipation is killing me I am so scared to deliver but the excitement and joy of holding him and seeing him for the first time is out weighing the scariness of it- We did birthing classes and they were so fun…Rodg did not want to wear the sympathy belly so I volunteered him to sit in the stirrups in the delivery room…what I would have given anything to get a picture of that

After church on Sunday we headed to Blackfoot to visit Rodgers Dad Garth- He is such a sweet man and is always excited to have visitors we are both so lucky to have him in our lives. Then we headed back to Idaho Falls to visit my Dad one of the greatest people I know- He is the simplest of men and doesn’t ever have a need in the world but would give you the world if he could! He is a perfect example of un I sure do love him!

(These two are so funny together...Love them)

Rodger was hoping for a baby on his first Fathers day! He is such an amazing person and is going to make a wonderful dad! We were in the grocery store Saturday night and he was wheeling the grocery cart up and slamming it down….I kept getting mad and rolling my eyes and this little lady walked by and said they never grow up! I am thankful that he is such a fun loving, outgoing, happy person and I hope this little boy turns out to be just like his dad!

Baby Shower for Kolby

I still can’t believe I am going to be a mom, some days it is just overwhelming but I am so excited! My sweet sister had a baby shower for me this weekend and she put so much work into it and I know with all the things going on with her thyroid, four kids and all the other thing she has going on…she didn’t really have the energy to do this but she is an amazing sister and friend and I really appreciate it! I got so many fun things and am so grateful for the amazing friends and family that came to support me and Kolby! I feel so blessed to have so many people that love and support me and Rodger; Kolby is one lucky boy to be coming into this world to so many people that already love him!

"With great power comes great responsibility."

So I have a confession to make….I love superheroes!!! It all started when I got my wisdom teeth out my senior year I spent all my holiday vacation with my Mom and she tried so hard to keep me from being BORED! My Mom asked if I wanted to watch “Spiderman”…me the girly girls of all girls…I wasn’t thrilled but said "ok" ….it was then that I fell in LOVE with Peter Parker a.k.a Spiderman! I also married a superhero lover! We enjoy going to the opening night or opening day of all of these movies…So since 2004 Spiderman was top the superhero..no argument about it…then we watched Ironman…They tied for first until this weekend Rodg took me to see “Thor” and I LOVED IT!!! Me and 7 computer nerds (Rodg's friends) I can’t wait to go see it again…I don’t know what it is about superheroes but I love them! It may be that there is always a love story twisted into it -or all the action that takes place, conquering good over evil but I love them all of them- When Rodger and I first met I thought he was a big nerd (not my type) but slowly we developed a relationship that was like none other and after being married to him for a year I am beginning to realize that everyone has a bit of nerd in them…even me!

My new Number ONE!!!

Happy Mothers Day

I have beautiful women in my life that have been amazing examples of Mothers and many other important things to me- This Mothers day has been very emotional for me…as I have been preparing to become a mother and feel very inadequate in what the Lord is trusting me with, I look to my Mom she is the most amazing women I know! She has always been there for me when I think of my Mom I think of the definition of charity, “The pure love of Christ; unconditional love, compassion, service, sympathy, and concern for others.” My Mom has taught me all of these things and so many more just by her every day actions- I so often have people I don’t know come up to me and tell me what a wonderful mother I have and I always think to myself “I know!” My mom is very selfless person in everything she does she never thinks about her I found a quote that fits my mom perfect….“A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie.” I feel so blessed to call her mom.

Natalie is another example of a wonderful mother and person, my sister is the most forgiving, giving person I think I know her love for people and concern for others is amazing and her love for her children is indescribable! She has been through many ups and downs in life but her faith in her Father in Heaven always helps carry her through those hard times whenever I have a hard time I just think of her and all the things she has been through and I know I can do hard things because of the faith she has shown to me- I love these two women and I hope that as I enter into motherhood I am just a twinkle of what they are and have been in my life!

Caribbean Cruise

My brother Jesse asked me and Rodger to go on this cruise, we had been trying to get pregnant and weren’t sure if I would be pregnant or not or how far along I would be but we decided this would be the last big trip just the two of us before we started having kids. So we decided to go and to make it even better my Parents were going! I love spending time with my Mom and Dad I think because I am the youngest and I spent so much of my time with them we have always been the best of friends and I am so grateful for them they are amazing. So we headed off on the cruise and it just so happened to be our one year anniversary and valentine’s day all in the same week! We had so much fun and will always remember the trip! I was in my second trimester and wasn’t sick anymore it was the perfect time for us to go and to spend some time together before the baby comes.

Kolby Ray

I love being pregnant! I love to feel him move and I get scared when I don’t feel him move and it is like a tender mercy when he starts to hiccup or kick me and I know that he is safe…it brings a smile to my face when this little boy wiggles and kicks he makes me so happy! I can’t imagine the joy he is going to bring to me when he has arrived safely here on earth. Overwhelming yes but I am so excited to meet this little boy and love him with all my heart! Some things I already know about this little boy

*He is a early riser like his mom
*Loves to hear his dads voice
*Loves meat and cheese….that’s the Mickelsen in him
*Loves music especially Hymns
I am so excited to be a mom and am so grateful for the wonderful examples of Mothers I have had in my life
